Young Sheldon Author Writes Book, Gets Published: Book Signing Planned

Date posted - May 10, 2013

Shane MadsenSheldon, Iowa — A local Sheldon high school student is gaining national notoriety as an author.

Fifteen-year-old Shane Madsen attends Sheldon High School, but he also writes fiction. In fact, he has written a novel already. We caught up with Madsen and asked him about the history of his journey as an author.

The book is a fantasy novel for young adults and is part of a planned series, called The Stevenson Chronicles. The first in the series is called Deltorn, and starts with a fairly normal boy and his unusual experiences.

Madsen says he plans about 15 books in the series before it wraps up.

A book signing is planned for tomorrow from 9:30 to 12:30 at the Sheldon Public Library, says Madsen.  He says copies of his book will be for sale and they’ll be signing copies as well.  He says they’ll take cash and all major credit cards, but would prefer no checks.

Madsen says his book is already nationwide and if you can’t make the book signimg, you can get copies several different ways.

Again, the book signing event will be at the Sheldon Public Library from 9:30 to 12:30.

We are all so proud of you, Shane! It’s great to see a young man developing his talents! Remember small town Sheldon, IA when the movie comes out! :)

  2. Timmy says:

The author of this article should have included links to were this book can be bought nationwide. As some of us can’t make it to the signing. A Google/Amazon search turned up nothing.
