Youth Pheasant Hunt Promises Fun, Education

Primghar, Iowa — If your young hunter is looking for an opportunity to get started in hunting or have a little fun, an opportunity is coming up a week from Saturday in O’Brien County

O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea tells us about the hunt, which is coming up on Saturday, October 20th.

Again, the Youth Pheasant Hunt is at the Crosbie Wildlife and Nature Youth Center, at 4270 Roosevelt Avenue, Primghar. That’s three miles south, a mile west, and a half south of Primghar. They tell us that it will include a warm-up trap shoot, and mentors will provide youth with a one-on-one pheasant hunt experience. Lunch will be provided to participants.

Elyea says the event is sponsored by Mark’s Pump Sales and Service and the O’Brien County Sportsmen’s Club. She says it is limited to 20 participants, so you should probably sign up soon by calling the Prairie Heritage Center at 712-295-7200.
