Ziegler CAT to Open New Facility in Sheldon

Date posted - March 22, 2012

We heard the announcement at the Sheldon City Council meeting on Wednesday that Ziegler CAT is going to open a new facility in Sheldon. We now have some of the details of what that will mean for Sheldon.

Ziegler CAT is entering into an agreement with the city of Sheldon to purchase land and build a new facility in the Crossroads Industrial Park. When completed, the building will serve the construction and agricultural markets, providing new and used equipment, service, parts, and technology support for Ziegler customers in Northwest Iowa. Construction is expected to begin this summer.

The facility will have roughly 20,000 sq. ft. of space, including a parts warehouse, offices, a full-service shop, and field service capabilities. Ziegler plans to eventually employ 18 – 25 people at the Sheldon facility.

The new location will sell and service the full line of CAT® compact and heavy construction equipment, the new vocational truck, and generators. A complete line of new and used agricultural equipment will also be offered, including Challenger® tractors; LEXION® combines; RoGator®, TerraGator®, and SpraCoupe® application equipment; White Planters; and Sunflower® tillage equipment. An overnight shuttle system will connect the Sheldon facility with Ziegler’s 22 other locations in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, providing customers with an unmatched array of products, parts, and services.

“We’re excited to expand our presence in Iowa,” said William Hoeft, Ziegler chairman & CEO. “With the construction of this new facility, we can provide a higher level of service to our customers in northwest Iowa.”

Founded in 1914, Ziegler is a family-owned company employing more than 1,400 people in 22 communities throughout the tri-state area.
