Cindy Lou Halverson

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in rural Albert City. Visitation will take place Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Cindy Lou Hollander was born December 15, 1956 in Lake Benton, Minnesota, the daughter of Wilbert and LaVonne (Meyn) Hollander.
She was baptized into the Lutheran faith.
Cindy attended school in Sheldon, Iowa, graduating from Sheldon High School in 1975.
On August 28, 1976, Cindy was united in marriage to Mark Halverson in Boyden, Iowa. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Cassie and Sara.
Cindy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove where she volunteered as a youth group leader, Praise Team member and Bible School craft teacher.
Together, Cindy and Mark worked on the farm and raised their family.
Cindy enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning. She had a special eye for flowers, and subsequently worked as a florist. She proudly arranged flowers for many family weddings. Cindy was very artistic, and enjoyed painting, drawing, and many other types of crafts. She made many memories traveling with her husband, Mark, over the years. Cindy also enjoyed her many shopping and sister trips. Most of all, Cindy deeply loved her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mark Halverson of Linn Grove, Iowa; children: Cassie (Trent) Gusso of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Sara (Chris) Legore of Marion, Iowa; mother, LaVonne Hollander of George, Iowa; grandchildren: Samuel and Callen Gusso; Evan, Lydia, and Natalie Legore; sister, Sheryl (Warren) Tiedeman of George, Iowa; brothers: David Hollander of George, Iowa; Darren Hollander of Boyden, Iowa; sister-in-law, Ruth (Walter Brettschneider) O’Neill; extended family and friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert.
