Curtis Leroy Kruger was born on June 28, 1955 in Luverne, MN to Leroy and Patricia (Abraham) Kruger. Following a car accident on December 19, 1959 which took his parents’ lives, Curt and his brother Steven went to live with their uncle and aunt Martin and Marie Kruger in George, Iowa.
Curt grew up in George and graduated from the George High School in 1973. Following his graduation Curt worked for a short time at the Cenex Station and then for Sudenga’s. In 1980 he began his career in trucking, which he continued until the time of his death.
Curt’s great love was toys. He collected tractors, “If it’s not a Farmall, it’s just another tractor.” and Peterbuilt trucks. Curt died doing what he loved, trucking, on November 20, 2015.
Curt is survived by his brother, Henry (Deanna) Kruger, of Ashton, Iowa; three nephews – Dean (Carol) Kruger of Little Rock, Iowa, Dan (Cheryl) Kruger of Slater, Iowa, and Larry Kruger of Marion, Iowa. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Steven and Frank, his sister-in-law Marilyn, and his niece Monica.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Zoar Presbyterian Church in George with Rev. Dale Lint officiating with inurnment at Zoar cemetery.
