13th Annual VNU Run, Walk, And Roll Results

Village Northwest Unlimited hosted the 13th annual Run Walk & Roll event on Saturday June 2, 2018. The event had record participation this year with an outstanding 487 participants, up from 406 in 2017. Of those, 341 participated in the 1 mile walk; 129 participated in the 5K run; and 17 participated in the 10K run. The 5k event included finishers of all ages – 8 year old Avery Dykstra and 89 year old Elmer Beltman.

The Run Walk & Roll is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together in support of individuals with disabilities. With the option to do either the 1 mile, 5K or 10K, it’s an event where people of all ages and abilities are able to participate. All funds raised from the Run Walk & Roll are used to provide services and programming with purpose, privacy and dignity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and traumatic brain injuries.

Results of the 5K are as follows:
​Women’s Overall Winner – Ashley Arend, Sibley, IA, 0:23:14.05
​Men’s Overall Winner – Caleb Baker, Sanborn, IA, 0:18:49.69

Results of the 10K are as follows:
Women’s Overall Winner – Shannon Schreurs, Sheldon, IA, 0:45:26.45
​Men’s Overall Winner – Ryan Francis, Sheldon, IA, 0:42:44.78
