1A Regional Volleyball Scores From Tuesday October 16th

Class 1A schools began Regional Volleyball Tournament action Tuesday night around the state of Iowa, with a full slate of games here in the KIWA listening area.  In our KIWA-FM broadcast match, Central Lyon downed West Sioux 3-0 to earn a berth in the second round of Regionals. The set scores were 25-9, 25-19 and 25-17.

Leading the way for the Lions was Lexi Ackerman with 12 kills. Sarah Halse added 11. Ackerman was the assists leader with 16 while Claire Snyder had 11. Kelsey Ackerman led the squad with 20 digs while Lexi and Angel Rasmussen had 13 each. At the serve line the Ackerman twins were both 16-of-17. Mikayla Miller had 2 ace serves. Central Lyon had 5 aces as a team. Central Lyon is now 22-7 on the year.

West Sioux was led by Shannon Jasper with 5 kills and 3 blocks. Jenna Rehder had 10 assists with Carly Dekkers going 7-of-11 serving with 1 ace serve.
