Ali Achterhof to Continue Volleyball Career at Northwestern

AchterhoffAli Achterhof of Orange City has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College next fall.

Achterhof is a 6’0” middle hitter who lettered two years for the MOC-Floyd Valley High School volleyball team. Achterhof put down 93 kills and hit .200 in leading the Dutch to its second straight class 3A state championship with a 35-6 overall record. She registered a team-high 98 blocks, eighth best in class 3A, and earned all-conference honors for the second straight year. A member of the National Honor Society and honor roll, Achterhof plans to major in graphic design and psychology at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Rick and Paula.

“We are excited that Ali is going to be joining our volleyball program and campus next fall,” commented head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “Ali was a key player for a team that won back-to-back state championships and is an excellent fit for our program. She is an outstanding blocker and will provide great length and depth at the middle hitter position. Ali has a passion for Christ and for her teammates and she will be a blessing to our team and to our campus.”
