Ida Grove Iowa — After an extended break due to the weather the Sheldon Orab boys and girls track teams were able to see action at the OA-BCIG invite Thursday. The Sheldon boys were 3rd in the 13 team field while the Orab girls finished in a tie for fourth place in the team standings.

Top five finishes for the Orabs included Ashlyn Albrecht who was 4th in the 100 meters in 13.51. The winning time by Abby Petersen of KPWC was 13.21. Anessa Schoo won the 1500 meters in 5:28.52. The second place time was 5:37.49. Schoo also won the 3000 meters in a time of 11:51.14. Kaitlyn Goth of MMC-RU was second in 11:55.41. Sydney Olson won the 400 meter hurdles in 1:14.01. The second place time was 1:16.62.
In the relay events Sheldon was 4th in the 4×100 in a time of 55.79. The winning time by OA-BCIG was 52.19. team members included Reagan Freeman, Mary Boerer, Hannah Uhl and Ashlyn Albrecht.
In the field events Maddie Zolle won the discus with a toss of 107-08. Peyton Turner of MMC-RU was second at 102-10. Ashlyn Albrecht won the long jump at 16-10. The second place distance was 15-06.50.

Top five finishes for the Orabs included Eric Heibult with a 4th place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.81. The winning time was 2:06.12. In the 110 meter hurdles Ben Jongewaard was second in 16.42. the winning time was 15.47. Jongewaard was second in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:01.38. Quinten Wynia was 4th in 1:01.44. The winning time was 59.15. The Orabs went four and five in the 1600 meters. Dawson Jacobsma was 4th in 4:57.99 with Steven Van Meeteren 5th in 4:59.68. The winning time was 4:44.75. in the 3200 meters Jacobsma was 3rd in a time of 10:25.84. The winning time was 10:05.00.
In the field events Ryan Van Marel won the discus with a toss of 147-07. Zach Mckee of West Sioux was second at 132-05. Van Marel was third in the shot with a toss of 49-08.00. The winning toss was 66-05.50. Trey Iedema was 5th in the high jump at 5-08.00. The winning height was 6-00.00.
In the relay events Sheldon won the 4×800 in a time of 8:34.88. Team members include Jaden Kleinhesselink, Brendan Cain, Steven Van Meeteren and Eric Heibult. The second place time was 8:45.59 by Humboldt. The Orabs were third in the 440 meter shuttle hurdle relay in 1:03.90. Team members included Austin Kavanagh, Ben Jongewaard, Quinten Wynia and Jaden Kleinhesselink. OA-BCIG had the winning time of 1:02.36. The Orabs were 4th in the 800 sprint medley in 1:44.92. Team members included Austin Kavanagh, Cody Vaselaar, Tyler Lode and Dakota Johannes. Humboldt won the event in 1:41.28. Sheldon was 5th in the 1600 sprint medley in 4:01.77. The team included Trey Iedema, Kaleb Ackerman, Steven Van Meeteren and Brendan Cain. OA-BCIG won the event in a time of 3:51.78.
