Area Baseball Players Named to All State Teams

baseball 3Boone Iowa — The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association 2016 All State Teams are out. Remsen St Mary’s senior catcher Brady Harpenau earned a spot on the prestigious All State Super Team. The Super Team is the best of the best in all four classes of   Iowa high school baseball. Remsen St Mary’s was also represented on the 1A All State Team by junior pitcher Jacob Wesselmann and senior Connor Clark who was named to a utility spot. The Hawks also put sophomore second baseman RJ Staab on the second team.

West Sioux had senior pitcher Porter Hummel named to the first team. The Falcons senior catcher Justin Negaard earned a spot on the second team. Also named to the second team was junior outfielder Mitch Van Beek from Central Lyon.

A pair of MOC Floyd Valley team mates earned 3A accolades. Senior catcher Drew Nielsen was named to the first team with junior Ben DeBoer named to the second team as a utility player.
