Bousema Signs With Dordt Volleyball

Emma Bousema, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender volleyball program.

Bousema had 275 digs last season with 49 ace serves and had 39 ace serves in 2017 with 365 digs in helping Western to a state title in 2018 and a runner-up finish in 2017. She earned second-team all-Lakes Conference honors in both seasons and was named an academic all-conference honoree. Bousema is listed as a 5-6 defensive specialist.

“Emma is an exciting athlete with power and fast reaction to the ball that is impressive. Playing in a ball control position, she also brings a strong serve to the court. We are grateful for the work that coach Tammi Veerbeek has put into her development. Emma will strengthen our ball control depth as she will bring a wonderful spirit of serving God and others throughout her years with our program. We are excited for her to join us this August,” said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.

Emma is the daughter of Amy and Joel Bousema from Sheldon, Iowa. She plans to study Psychology at Dordt.
