Boyden Hull Downs Orab Girls

Boyden-Hull School LogoHull, Iowa — Boyden Hull led at all the breaks as the Comets posted a 46-39 win over the Sheldon Orabs in Hull Tuesday night. The Comets led 15-8 at the end of the first quarter and then pulled into half time with a 26-20 lead. Late in the third quarter the Orabs pulled in front 30-29 but the Comets recovered to go in front 31-30 at the end of the third quarter. A strong fourth quarter at the free throw line was the difference as the Comets went 11-of-14 from the stripe in the final period to seal the win 46-39.

Boyden Hull got a game high 12 points from Mallory Nilles followed by Brianna Kleinwolterink with 9. Her scoring effort including a three point bucket and 6-of-6 free throw shooting in the fourth quarter.  Sheldon was led by Emily Meyer and Mallory McQueen with 9 points each.

With the win Boyden Hull is 1-1 on the season and in the conference. Sheldon is 0-2 in the conference and for the season. Next action for the Comets will be their first boys-girls doubleheader of the season as they host Okoboji Friday night. The Sheldon boys will see their first action of the year in the home opener Friday against Sioux Center as the Orabs host the Warriors in boys and girls basketball.
