Brandt and Gunderson Honored by Iowa Football Coaches Association

football 3Ames Iowa — Corey Brandt of Boyden Hull Rock Valley and Lane Gunderson of Harris-Lake Park were honored as coaches of the year in 3A and 8 man football respectively during a two day coaches clinic at Iowa State University. Brandt and Travis Kooima head coach at Western Christian also received rings to commemorate state titles. Other schools winning titles this year included Dowling Catholic in Class 4A, Pella in Class 3A, Gladbrook-Reinbeck in Class A and Don Bosco of Gilbertville in 8-man football.

Honored as coaches of the year for 2016 were Garrett Hartwig, of Iowa City West in Class 4A, Bob Howard, of Webster City in 3A, Cory Brandt, of Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley in 2A,  Marv Cook, of Iowa City Regina in 1A, Marty Wadle, of Bishop Garrigan in Class A and Lane Gunderson of Harris-Lake Park in 8-man.
