Carlson To Run At Northwestern

Northwestern logoOrange City, Iowa — Jada Carlson has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Northwestern College next year.

Carlson is a 5’6” sprinter/hurdler who is in her fourth year competing for Sibley-Ocheyedan High School. Carlson qualified for the state meet in multiple events three straight years, finishing fourth as a member of the shuttle hurdle relay as a sophomore. She is also a two-time Drake Relays qualifier and holds the school record in the 100m hurdles and 4×100 and shuttle hurdle relays. Carlson has a personal best of 15.87 in the 100m hurdles. Also a state qualifier in cross country and two-year letter winner in softball, Carlson is a member of the honor roll and National Honor Society. She plans to major in physical education at Northwestern and is the daughter of Peter and Angie.

“Jada is a very talented hurdler,” commented Northwestern head coach Scott Bahrke. “Jada is a hard worker and an outstanding teammate who had had a great deal of success at the high school level. We are thrilled to have her Jada join our women’s track and field team and look forward to watching her compete over the next four years.”
