Class 1A Baseball Tournament Results

The first round of the Class 1A Baseball tournament got underway Tuesday at sites across the state. Listed below are the results and upcoming match-ups from our local area teams.
Class 1A District 1:
Upper Bracket Game 1: West Lyon defeated West Sioux 6-3
Upper Bracket Game 2: Central Lyon defeated George-Little Rock 5-2
Lower Bracket Game 1: Remsen St. Mary’s defeated Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn 7-4
Lower Bracket Game 2: Spalding Catholic defeated Remsen-Union 7-4
Upper Bracket Semifinal: West Lyon vs. Central Lyon Thursday at West Lyon
Lower Bracket Semifinal: Remsen St. Mary’s vs Spalding Thursday at Remsen St. Mary’s
District Final: Saturday, July 14th at Remsen St. Mary’s
Class 1A District 3:
Upper Bracket Game 1: South O’Brien defeated Clay-Central-Everly 12-2 (6 innings)
Upper Bracket Game 2: Harris-Lake Park defeated Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 4-3 (8 innings)
Lower Bracket Game 1: Storm Lake St. Mary’s defeated Laurens-Marathon 12-0 (5 innings)
Lower Bracket Game 2: Newell Fonda defeated Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven Ayrshire 13-7
Upper Bracket Semifinal: South O’Brien vs. Harris Lake Park Thursday at HMS
Lower Bracket Semifinal: Storm Lake St. Mary’s vs Newell Fonda Thursday at Storm Lake St. Mary’s
District Final: Saturday, July 14th at Storm Lake High School
