Comets Advance With Win Over South O’Brien

Comet LogoHull, Iowa — Boyden-Hull rolled to a 61-42 victory over South O’Brien in a Class 1A District 2 semifinal in Hull Tuesday night.

Boyden-Hull jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the opening quarter and heading into the 2nd quarter the Comets’ lead was 10-2. Fouls plagued South O’Brien in the 2nd quarter and that gave Boyden-Hull room to work with and heading into halftime the Comets extended their lead to 32-9. Boyden-Hull then cruised in the 2nd half to the 61-42 victory.

Leading the way for the Comets was Jacob Schafer with 16 points, and Shane Solberg added 11 points with Marcus Rens adding 10 points.

South O’Brien got a game high 17 points from Carson Louscher.

Boyden-Hull improves to 16-7 on the year and will play George-Little Rock on Thursday, February 23rd in Sheldon. South O’Brien ends their year at 13-10. With the impending weather the start time for the District final has been moved up to 5:30.
