Cooper Transfers to Northwestern College

Northwestern logoOrange City, Iowa — Andy Cooper has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College next year.

Cooper, a transfer from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn., is a 6’5”, 280-pound offensive lineman who played three years for Sheldon High School. Cooper earned first team all-state honors two years and was also a two-time all-district selection while playing for Sheldon. He participated in the 2015 Iowa Shrine Bowl and was named all-Northwest Iowa Review two years. Cooper plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern and is the son of Niki and Stewart.

“We are extremely excited to have Andy transfer to Northwestern,” commented head coach Matt McCarty. “He had a tremendous high school career at Sheldon and will be a force along our offensive line.”
