Crusaders Top Dutch In 3A Quarterfinals

MOC Floyd Valley was knocked out of the 3A Boy’s Basketball Quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon on a 35-33 final score. Sioux City Heelan the three time and defending State 3A Champions were able to control tempo and pull out the win.

Heelan took their first lead of the ballgame 34-33 with 1:02 to play as Kyle Heaton hit a pair of free throws. He would finish with 11 points in the ballgame. Shane Graves pumped in 15 points to join him in double figures.

MOC Floyd Valley was led by Daniel Jansen who hit for a game high 20 points evenly split with 10 points in each half. Jansen also pulled down 10 rebounds. Justin Van Kalsbeek was next with 8 points and 6 boards.

It was the first loss of the season for the top ranked Dutch who end the year at 24-1. The Crusaders improve to 18-6 and will move on to the semi finals on Thursday night.
