De Jager Signs With Dordt

Jessi De Jager, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender women’s volleyball program.

De Jager, a 6-1 middle hitter, averaged 2.79 kills and .63 blocks per set with a kill efficiency of .306 during her senior season. Jessi helped the Wolfpack to a 37-9 record here senior year. She was part of 2A State Championship teams in both 2015 and 2016. She was part of three Lakes Conference Championship teams in 2015, 2016, 2017. Jessi accumulated 1st Team All-Conference, 2A All-Tournament Team and Siouxland Athlete of the Week her senior year.

“Jessi has had tremendous growth in the sport of volleyball through her high school years under the leadership of coach Tammi Veerbeek. The continued trajectory of her volleyball growth is exciting and we believe will impact our program immediately through her net play. She is explosive off the floor and has a fast arm swing. In addition to her on-court athleticism, Jessi also has a Christ-honoring spirit that will blend well into our campus community,” said Dordt College volleyball coach Chad Hanson.

Jessi is the daughter of Brent and Amy De Jager who reside in Hull, Iowa.
