District Boys and Girls Cross Country Results from Thursday October 19th

cross countryNorthwest Iowa — Area high school boys and girls runners qualified for the State Cross Country Meet out of the district competition Thursday in all classes of cross country.

Class 2A at Landsmeer hosted by Unity

Pocahontas Area won the girls team title with 57 points. Okoboji was second at 86. Individual honors went to Suzanne Putze of Woodbury Central Kingsley Pierson with a time of 19:20.1. Alexa Cook of Missouri Valley was next at 19:29.3. Anessa Schoo of Sheldon was 15th overall and qualified for State in a time of 20:38.3.

Unity Christian won the boys team title with 55 points. Western Christian was second at 65. George Little Rock Central Lyon team mates finished first and second in the individual competition. Gable Sieperda was first in 16:25 followed by Joe Anderson with a time of 16:28.3. Dawson Jacobsma had Sheldon’s top finish. He was 12th in a time of 17:14.6 to qualify for the State Meet.

Class 1A at Ridgeview

Maple Valley – Anthon-Oto won the girls team total with 64 points although Fort Dodge St. Edmond also finished with 64 points. Maple Valley Anthon Oto claimed first on a tie breaker. The individual title went to Madison Schiernbeck of OA-BCIG with a time of 20:09.64. Hailey Pullman of West Sioux was second in 20:20.00.

Boyer Valley won the boys team title at 66 followed by Remsen St Mary’s at 106. Individual honors went to Riley Bauer of North Union in 15:54.15. Zach Ambrose of Boyer Valley was second in 17:02.23.

Class 3A at Spencer

Sioux City Heelan won the girls team title with 54 points followed by Humboldt at 62. Individual honors went to Bryce Gidel of Humboldt in 18.50.57. Kourtney Delperdang of Spirit Lake was second with a time of 19.16.98.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton won the boys team title with 76 points followed by Humboldt at 77. Dylan Cavanaugh of Storm Lake was the individual winner in a time of 16.09.40.
Miles Scott of Sergeant Bluff-Luton was second in 16.12.60.
