District Round of Boys Golf Set For Friday May 17th

golf picThe final round of qualifying for the state boys golf meet takes place today with the District round of competition for area golfers in Class 2A and 3A.

In Class 2A at Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake the field includes Okoboji and Western Christian who qualified out of the sectional at Okoboji last Friday. Individuals who advanced included Medalist Tyler Ohl of Okoboji along with Taylor Kooi Western Christian.

Qualifying teams from the sectional at Landsmeer in Orange City last Friday were Rock Valley and Sioux Center. Individuals included Medalist Luke Keeble Rock Valley and team mate Scott Westra. Also making the cut were Drake Wrather and Joel Groeneweg of Unity Christian.


The Class 3A district round will be played at the Carroll Country Club. Area golfers who advanced included Brett Bomgaars and Ryan Christy of MOC Floyd Valley along with Zach Skopec of Spirit Lake. Spirit Lake qualified their team for the District meet as well.

The final round of regional play for girl’s golf is coming up on Monday the 20th.
