Dordt College hosted the 17th Annual Indoor Track and Field High School Indoor Meet on Monday. It was the season opener for a number of high school teams including the Sheldon Orab boys and girls squads.
Highlights on the girls side included a one and three finish for Caitlin Cain and Allorie Feekes in the 55 meter hurdles. Cains’s time was 9.46. Katie Kneifl won the long jump with a distance of 14-9.75. Both the 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 went to MOC Floyd Valley.
On the boys side Colby Kleinhesselink, Dillon Jamsma and Brandon Winkel went one, two, three in the 55 meter low hurdles. Kleinsesselink’s time was 8.55. In the Long Jump Matt Buenger and Dylon Ennema went second and third behind Jacob Peters on MOC Floyd Valley who went 18-01.5.
In the shot Andy Cooper was second behind Ethan Fenchel of Western Christian. Fenchel also claimed first place in the 55 meter dash.
Sioux Center won a pair of relays with first place finishes in the 4 by 200 and 4 by 400.
After a week off the Orabs are scheduled to return to action on April 8th at a meet hosted by MOC Floyd Valley.
