Dordt Men Win GPAC Cross Country Title

North Bend, Nebraska – The 2018 Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships, presented by Cypress Risk Management, were held on Saturday, November 3, in North Bend, Nebraska, at the North Bend Golf Course.

Dordt College scored 37 points to claim the 2018 GPAC Championship.  Dordt posted the 1st, 6th, 7th, 10th, and 13th runners for their total of 37 points. Northwestern was second with 78 points, while Doane was third with 105.

Eric Steiger from Dordt College was the individual champion with a time of 26:12.80.

The win gives Dordt the GPAC automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships on November 16 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The race was run in 43 degree weather on a wet course.  However, it was not raining during the race.

The NAIA will release a list of the additional team and individual qualifiers next week.

The top-15 runners in the race are GPAC All-Conference and Nate Wolf from Dordt College was named the GPAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
