Hartley, Iowa — Tristan Haag, a senior at Hartley Melvin Sanborn High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender softball program.
She had a .355 batting average in 2016 and had a .539 slugging percentage while throwing out nine base stealers. Haag earned second-team honors from the War Eagle Conference at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
“We are excited to welcome Tristan to the Dordt College softball program,” said Dordt College softball coach Jeff Zomer. “Tristan has experience both behind the plate and in the outfield. I think Tristan has a bright future ahead of her at Dordt College.”
Tristan is the daughter of Pete and Barb Haag of Primghar, Iowa. She plans to study Animal Science at Dordt College.
