Dordt Volleyball Learns National Assignment Schedule

Dordt_Defenders logoThe Dordt College Defender volleyball team has learned its pool assignment and pool schedule for the 2015 NAIA Volleyball National Championship to be held in Sioux City, Iowa beginning Tuesday, December 1.

The Defenders have been placed in Pool B along with Viterbo (Wisconsin), Georgetown (Kentucky) and Olivet Nazarene (Illinois) and will face each of those teams on three successive days.

Dordt will face Georgetown on Tuesday, December 1 at 8:30 pm and will face Viterbo on Wednesday, December 2 at 5:45. The Defenders will conclude pool play on Thursday, December 3 against Olivet Nazarene at 5:45.

“What a treat for everyone associated with Dordt College and our volleyball program for us to be able to play our volleyball on a national stage in Sioux City. From experience, we know that each night of the tournament is highly competitive and filled with excitement,” said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson. “With the proximity of Sioux City, we are hoping our fans make the trip to see stellar Dordt Volleyball continue.”

The top-two teams out of each of the six pools will advance to elimination play on Friday morning/afternoon, December 4. The quarterfinal round of the tournament portion of the event is on Friday night. The semifinal and championship rounds are scheduled for Saturday, December 5.
