Dordt Women Win GPAC Cross Country Title

(North Bend, Nebraska) – The 2018 Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Championships, presented by Cypress Risk Management, were held on Saturday, November 3, in North Bend, Nebraska, at the North Bend Golf Course.

Dordt College scored 45 points to claim the 2018 GPAC Championship.  Dordt posted the 1st, 6th, 7th, 15th, and 16th runners for their total of 45 points.  Hastings was second with 68 points, while Northwestern was third with 69.

Annechiena Knevelbaard from Dordt College was the individual champion with a time of 18:25.26.

The win gives Dordt the GPAC automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships on November 16 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The race was run in 43 degree weather on a wet course.  However, it was not raining during the race.

The NAIA will release a list of the additional team and individual qualifiers next week.

The top-15 runners in the race are GPAC All-Conference and Nate Wolf from Dordt College was named the GPAC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
