Doubleheader Football Preview for Friday October 16th

football 1Northwest Iowa — Week eight of the Iowa high school football season finds the Sheldon Orabs hosting MOC Floyd Valley in their final home game of the season.

The Orabs are coming off a road loss to unbeated Spirit Lake last Friday. Meanwhile MOC Floyd Valley dropped a home game to Sioux Center.

Orab head coach Tyler Lloyd appreciates the Dutchmen’s line play.

Lloyd’s keys to the game begin with turnovers and keeping them to a minimum or eliminating them all together.

Dutch head coach Tom Rupp is impressed with the week to week improvement of the Orabs.

Rupp feels confidence and playing without turnovers will be the big keys to the game.

LA and the coach Kent DeZeeuw bring you the coverage on KIWA AM 1550.

On KIWA FM 105.3 it’s LeMars at Boyden Hull Rock Valley. The Nighthawks got an important district win at Storm Lake while LeMars fell to Sergeant Bluff Luton at home.

The Nighthawks are 5-2 on the year and 2-2 in the district with LeMars looking for their first district win and are 1-6 on the season.

Nighthawks coach Corey Brandt sums up the Bulldogs this way.

For the Nighthawks the keys to a win begin with executing the game plan.

LeMars head coach Gabe Tardive’s thumb nail of the Nighthawks begins with their size and speed.

For Tardive the keys to a win begin with turn overs.

Pregame for both contests begins with the Radio Iowa Scouting Report at 6:05 with kick off at 7:00. We’ll stream both contests from the website at www.kiwaradio.com.
