Football Broadcast Doubleheader Preview October 9th

football-strategy-22687119Northwest Iowa — Week seven of the Iowa high school football season finds the Sheldon Orabs on the road at Spirit Lake and back in district play.

The Orabs are coming off a road loss to Western Christian in their final non district game of the year. Spirit Lake is undefeated and ranked third in the Class 2A Radio Iowa poll. The Indians are coming off a narrow road win at Sioux Center this past Friday night.

For the Orabs and head coach Tyler Lloyd when it comes to Spirit Lake the key word is respect.

For Orab success it’s a matter of going as hard as you can as long as you can.

Spirit Lake head coach Josh Bulloyt talks about the Orabs defensive pressure.

Bulloyt feels the key for the Indians will be explosive plays.

LA and the coach Kent DeZeeuw bring you the coverage on KIWA AM 1550.

On KIWA FM 105.3 it’s Boyden Hull Rock Valley at Storm Lake. The Nighthawks dropped just their second district game of the season at Sioux City Heelan last week. Storm Lake fell to Sergeant Bluff Luton last week.

The Nighthawks are 4-2 on the year and 1-2 in the district with Storm Lake at 2-2 in the district chase and 2-4 on the season.

Nighthawks coach Corey Brandt sees Storm Lake as a much improved team.

Brandt would like to see the Nighthawks start fast and play fast this week.

Storm Lake head coach Rudy Wieck sees the Nighthawks as a definite challenge.

Keys from the Tornado perspective include eliminating short field opportunities.

Pregame for both contests begins with the Radio Iowa Scouting Report at 6:05 with kick off at 7:00. We’ll stream both contests from the website at www.kiwaradio.com.
