GPAC All Conference Mens Basketball Team Named

Jake Shipley from Briar Cliff has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Mens Basketball Player-of-the-Year to headline the GPAC Basketball All-Conference Teams for 2011-12.

Shipley helped lead the Chargers to a 20-9 regular season record. He led the conference in scoring with an average of 18.7 points per game, including a 41.7 three-point field goal percentage. Shipley was also in the top 10 in free throw percentage, shooting 84.7 percent, and top 20 in rebounding with 4.9 a game.

Other GPAC basketball honorees include: Defensive Player-of-the-Year Kyle Lindbergh from Dordt, Co-Freshmen-of the-Year Jalen Voss from Dakota Wesleyan and Joel Haywood from Concordia, and the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year Ross Douma from Dordt. The All-GPAC Basketball Teams are selected by the leagues 11 head coaches.
