Iowa Individual Wrestling Tournament Day 3

wrestling gearDes Moines Iowa — Day three of the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament got underway at 10:00 am with the Class 3A, 1A and 2A consolation semifinal and finals. A strong contingent of area wrestlers will be on the medal stand at Wells Fargo Arena for the final day of the tournament. The final session of the tournament began at 5:45 pm with the awards presentations followed by the Grand March and finals in all classes.

Class 1A area wrestlers 

145 
Dylan Schuck of Sibley-Ocheyedan wrestled for the title Saturday night. He dropped a 6-2 decision and finished second in the State

160 
John Henrich of Akron-Westfield  will wrestle for the title Saturday night. He won a 4-3 decision and is a State Champion

Garrett Sayler of Sibley-Ocheyedan won his final match 6-1 to finish  7th place Saturday.

170 
Trent Kruger of Sibley-Ocheyedan won his first match in the consolation semis by fall in :28 and will saw his 3rd place match stopped by injury at 2:19. He finished 4th.

Hunter De Jong of Sibley-Ocheyedan won in the consolation semis on a 9-3 decision. In his 3rd place match he dropped a 2-1 decision and finished 4th.

Skyler Bonestroo of Western Christian fell in consolation semifinals in 3:45. In his final match of the tournament he won a 4-3 decision to finish in 5th place

Matt Naig of Sibley-Ocheyedan won in the consolation semis on a 4-0 decision. He lost by fall in his next match in 4:20 to finish in 4th place at State.

Area Class 2A Wrestlers

Gable Seiperda of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock won in the consolation semis on a 1-0 decision. In his 3rd place match he lost a 5-2 decision and finished 4th.

Austin Rozeboom of Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley won his  7th place match 4-1 on Saturday

182 
Luke Jenness of Sheldon-South O’Brien finished the tournament with a fall in 1:22 for a 7th place finish.

285 
Elijah Van’t Hof of Sioux Center won a 3-2 decision in his  7th place match Saturday.
