Jansen Earns Second Weekly Honor

Dordt_Defenders logoFor the second consecutive week, Dordt College defensive specialist Summer Jansen is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Jansen, a sophomore from Sheldon, Iowa averaged 6.86 digs per game for Dordt who is ranked No. 14  in the latest poll. She had 26 digs against No. 22 Grand View to help the Defenders to a 9-1 start.

“A well-deserved honor for Summer this week as she not only defended our court well behind the block but she serve receive passed well and was aggressive from the service line. Her strength in the libero position is one more reason for our success last week,” said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.

Jansen averages 5.39 digs per set this season and has four service aces through nine matches played and 33 sets.

Dordt is 9-1 this season and will host Mount Marty and Briar Cliff this week in GPAC play.
