Joseph Tolsma to Run Track at Northwestern

Northwesstern logoJoseph Tolsma of Orange City has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field and cross country careers at Northwestern College next year.

Tolsma is a 5’11” distance runner who earned multiple letters for the MOC-Floyd Valley track and cross country teams. Tolsma is a two-time all-conference selection and boasts personal bests of 2:08 in the 800m, 5:00 in the mile and 16:55 in the 5K. An academic all-state selection, Tolsma plans to major in biology and chemistry at Northwestern College. He is the son of Jeff and Sara.

“Joe will be a great fit for our men’s distance crew,” commented head coach Scott Bahrke. “He is a hard worker who is only going to get faster and stronger in his races at the college level. Joe is an outstanding student and has high goals both academically and athletically. We are excited to have him on our team.”
