Kendra De Jong NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Player of The Week

De Jong, a 6-foot forward, averaged 21.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists to lead the Red Raiders to a 2-0 week. In an 89-63 victory over Mount Marty on February 20th, De Jong tallied a team-high 23 points and collected a game-high 16 rebounds, five assists and two steals. The senior from Hospers, Iowa, followed that performance her 12 double-double of the season by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds in an upset victory against No. 7 Concordia in the Great Plains Athletics Conference semifinals. De Jong has recorded seven-straight double-doubles.
Nationally, De Jong ranks fifth in total rebounds per game (10.76) and total rebounds (312), 11th field goal percentage (.532), and 19th in points per game (17.55).
Earlier De Jong was named the GPAC Women’s Player of The Week. It marks the third time this season she has earned the honor.
