Maasdam To Play At Northwestern

Josie Maasdam of Orange City has signed a letter of intent to continue her soccer career at Northwestern College beginning next fall.

Maasdam is a 5’5” defender who has played three years for the MOC Floyd Valley High School soccer team heading into her final season this spring. Maasdam helped lead her team to an 8-8 record last season on her way to being named first-team all-conference. Also a letterwinner in both volleyball and basketball, Maasdam is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll every semester. Maasdam plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern and is the daughter of Kirk and Becky.

“Josie is a very hard worker and gifted athlete,” commented Northwestern head coach Ben Karnish. “She is a great teammate, both on and off the field, and it will be fun to see her continue to be a team player at Northwestern College.”
