Malenke to Run at Dordt

Dordt_Defenders logoSioux Center, Iowa — Schuyler Malenke, a senior at Unity Christian High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and cross country programs.

Malenke was a rare four-year varsity runner for the Unity Cross Country program and helped the Knights to a pair of third place finishes at the Iowa High School State Cross Country Meet in 2013 and 2014 and a runner-up finish in 2015. He ran 16th as a sophomore; 11th as a junior and 9th as a senior. He was an all-conference performer four times and a part of four conference champions. He has a personal best of 16:08 on a 5,000 meter course and will transition to track and field in the spring after competing in soccer during high school.

“We are excited to have Schuyler joining our men’s distance program. He is a talented runner that has been part of a very successful Unity Christian Cross Country program. He is a great fit for the greater Dordt community and will have an impact on both our program and across campus,” said Dordt College cross country coach and assistant track and field coach Nate Wolf.

Schuyler is the son of Gary and Laura Malenke of Orange City, Iowa. He plans to studyEngineering at Dordt College
