Maneman, De Jong Claim All-American Honors

Two Red Raiders, Renee Maneman and Kassidy De Jong, received NAIA All-American honors for the 2017-18 season as announced by the national office Thursday.

Maneman, a three-time all-conference selection, was named to the nine-player second team and takes home the national honor for the first time. The senior point guard had an outstanding final season as the Red Raiders floor general, averaging a career-best 11.3 points per game. She shot nearly 50% from the field and led the NAIA in assists (285) for the second consecutive season. Maneman scored in double figures in 20 games this season and posted seven double-doubles (points / assists). The senior closed her career with 1,014 points (32nd all-time), 538 rebounds (29th), 204 steals (11th) and as the program’s all-time leader in assists (784).

De Jong, now a three-time All-American, earned honorable mention recognition this season. The junior guard ranked second in the GPAC in both scoring (17.1) and rebounding (8.2) while shooting 45% from the field. De Jong scored in double figures in 31 of 34 games played and accounted for 11 double-doubles.

Northwestern, under the direction of head coach Chris Yaw, finished with a 25-9 record and lost in Monday’s national semifinal.
