MOC-Floyd Valley Girls Finish 2nd At State

    MOC Floyd Valley suffered their first loss of the season in the Class 3A title game as Davenport Assumption won their second championship in as many years 59-32.

    The Knights jumped out to a 22-8 first quarter lead and they were able to trade buckets with the Lady Dutch for the rest of the ball game. MOC Floyd Valley was led by sophomore Alexis Conaway who hit for 13 points.

    Conaway earned a spot on the 3A All Tournament Team along with Lauren McDonald.

    Davenport Assumption had two players getting 12 points from Grace Fennelly and 11 from Hailey Schneden. Schneden was named Captain of the 3A All Tournament Team and was joined on the squad by teammates Kate Fennelly and Danielle Moore.

    MOC Floyd Valley ends the year at 27-1. Assumption who played their entire regular season against 4A competition ends the year at 25-2.
