Mustang Girls Open Tournament Play With Win Over Spalding

George Little Rock opened Girls Tournament play with a 57-26 home play in win over Spalding Thursday night. The Mustangs will host Clay Central Everly Tuesday February 12th in the quarterfinals. Clay Central Everly won a home game against Graettinger Terril Ruthven Ayrshire 50-43.
G-LR opened with a 17-6 first quarter lead and were up 27-19 advantage at half time. A third quarter surge by Spalding got them within 5 points before the Mustangs regained control and went on a run to lead 44-24 at the end of the third quarter. Another run in the fourth quarter helped propel them to the 57-26 win.
The Mustangs had three players in double figures getting 17 from Danielle Eben, 16 from Jessica Sandbulte and 12 more from Keeley Kruse. Spalding’s Caitlin Murphy tied for game high honors with 17 points to lead the Spartans.
With the win George Little Rock improves to 12-11 on the year while Spalding closes the season at 4-18.
