Northwestern Falls From Top Spot to 11th in Men’s Poll

Northwestern College is ranked 11th in this week’s edition of the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball coaches’ poll released earlier this afternoon.

The Red Raiders dropped 10 spots after being ranked first in the last coaches’ poll on Nov. 28. Northwestern, with an 11-2 record, totaled 211 points and is one of four teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in this week’s top 25; Briar Cliff (5th), Morningside (10th) and Dakota Wesleyan (20th). Another GPAC team, Concordia, received votes.

Cornerstone (Mich.), the preseason No.1, regains the top spot in this week’s rating, earning 11 of the 12 possible first place votes. Saint Francis (Ind.) claimed the final first place vote and is second, followed by Indiana East, Indiana Wesleyan and Briar Cliff.
