Northwestern Linebacker Aaron Jansen Named Defensive Player of The Week

Northwestern line backer Aaron Jansen is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Jansen, a senior, from Orange City, Iowa, helped lead 17th ranked Northwestern 28-14 win over 16th ranked Doane. Jansen accounted for 8.5 total tackles with seven solo and three assisted tackles.
The senior linebacker from MOC Floyd Valley High School also had three tackles for a loss of six yards. Jansen played an instrumental role in holding the Doane offense to 234 yards, which is over 200 yards less than their average on the season.
Northwestern (2-1, 1-1) will take on non-conference foe Dakota State (0-4) next week in Orange City at 1 pm at Korver Field.
