Northwestern Signs A Pair Of Transfers For Softball

Karlee Stubbe of George and Sarah Christopher of Jackson, Minnesota have signed letters of intent to continue their softball careers at Northwestern College next fall.

Stubbe transfers to Northwestern after attending South Dakota State University for one year. A 5’7” outfielder and pitcher, Stubbe played three years for the George-Little Rock High School softball team. She earned honorable mention all-conference honors after hitting .307 with two doubles and four stolen bases as a senior. Stubbe also posted a 4-0 record with a 3.35 earned run average in 39.2 innings pitched. She plans to major in elementary education at Northwestern and is the daughter of Doug and Becky.

 
Christopher comes to Northwestern after playing one year at Iowa Lakes Community College. A 5’7” pitcher and utility player, Christopher played three years for the Jackson County Central softball team where she went 7-4 with a 2.61 ERA in 75 innings pitched, earning all-state honors as a senior. She earned all-conference accolades two years (2010 and 2011). Christopher was a member of the National Honor Society and plans to major in biology at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Kevin and Deb.

“We are very excited to have Sarah and Karlee a part of Northwestern College,” commented head coach Chris Nachtigall. “They are both women of character and very hard workers. Karlee will add depth to our outfield and Sarah will be able to add depth to multiple positions including in the circle. They will be a great fit for our program and the college.”
