Northwestern’s Matt Bos Named GPAC SID of the Year

Northwestern logoSioux City, Iowa – Matt Bos of Northwestern College has been selected as the 2015-16 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Sports Information Director of the Year. The award is voted on by the league’s sports information directors. He will be honored at the 2016 GPAC Football Media day on Tuesday, August 2 in South Sioux City, Nebraska, at the Marina Inn.

Northwestern College Athletic Director Earl Woudstra said, “Matt does an excellent job promoting our Red Raider athletic programs. I especially appreciate his interest in our individual athletes, and his enthusiasm for their success. On our campus Matt has made significant improvements in the way Red Raider athletics are promoted.”

This is the second year of the GPAC Sports Information Director of the Year award.

For Bos this was his 12th year as the sports information director at Northwestern. He has lent a helping hand for the GPAC and the NAIA at their Championship events. For many years he has served the NAIA as the on-site media coordinator in Point Lookout, Missouri, for the NAIA Men’s Division II Basketball Championship at College of the Ozarks. He also serves as the voice of the NAIA Volleyball National Championship in Sioux City and provides broadcast coverage for the NAIA Network and ESPN 3 on an annual basis.

Matt continues to make improvements in the way Red Raider Athletics are promoted especially on-line, via social media and through the use of webcasts where he serves as the voice of the Red Raiders.
