Orab Baseball Team Finishes Regular Season With Doubleheader Sweep

In the opener a five run third inning propelled the Orabs to the win. At the plate Jake Rosburg and Travis Buyert each drove in a pair of runs. Buyert went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Matt Buenger was 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored. Trinity rbi’s were delivered by Collin Heynen, Mark Massen and Dillon Brummell.
Brennan Vote went the first four innings for the win. he scattered 3 hits, gave up 2 runs, walked 3 and struck out 4. Matt Kooima went the first three innings and took the loss. He gave up 3 earned runs, walked 3 and struck out 3.
In Sheldon’s 7-3 win in the nightcap a six run fourth inning turned it in the Orab’s favor. At the plate Mitch Jensen drove in 2 runs with a 2-for-3 performance. He scored a run as well. Travis Buyert drove in two and scored a run going 1-for-3 in the ballgame. Blake Meyer led Trinity with a 2-for-4 performance and score twice. Jesse Tuenissen drove in a run going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Ben Marshall went the first six innings scattering 8 hits. He gave up 3 runs, walked 3 and struck out 7. Collin Heynen took the loss going 6 innings. He scattered 7 hits giving up 1 earned run. Heynen walked 1 and struck out 4.
Up next for the Orabs will be the start of the District Tournament on Saturday in Sioux Center. The Orabs open with a 5pm play in game against Hartley Melvin Sanborn in the lower bracket. The winner advances to the semis on Tuesday night against Sioux Center who got the bottom bracket bye.
In the upper bracket at 7pm Saturday its South O’Brien against Unity. The winner meets Western Christian in semis on Tuesday night. the Wolfpack got the upper bracket bye into the semifinals.
