Orab Boys on to District Final

The Sheldon Orab Boys Basketball Team moved on to the Class 2A District 3 Finals with a 57-38 home win over West Lyon. With the win Sheldon earned a trip to the Unity Christian Gym on Tuesday night to go against Western Christian who knocked off Estherville Lincoln Central 71-47 in the other semi final Thursday night in Hull.
Sheldon opened up a 10-4 first quarter lead and led 22-13 at halftime. At the end of three the lead was 34-26 as the Orabs went on to the 57-38 win.
Chris Balster led all scorers with 19 in the ballgame. His line included 7 two point buckets a three pointer and a 2-of-2 performance from the free throw line. Balster was joined by Dallas Ennema who hit for a dozen. All told eight Sheldon players found their way into the scorebook including five different players who hit treys.
West Lyon was led by sophomore Brandon Snyder with 18 points. His line included 4 two point field goals a pair of threes and a 4-of-6 performance from the line. He was joined in double figures by Kacey Myrlie with 11 points.
With the win Sheldon improves to 12-10 on the season while West Lyon wraps up the year at 13-10.
