Orab Softball Team Falls to Boyden Hull Rock Valley

nighthawk logoThe Sheldon Orab softball team fell to 7th ranked Boyden Hull Rock Valley 17-3 Thursday night in Sheldon.

The Nighthawks pulled away with a 4 run fifth inning and 7 more in the top of the sixth inning. Sheldon scored in the fourth and put two more on the board in the bottom of the fifth.

Caitlin Cain led Sheldon with a pair of rbi’s. She went 3-for-3 in the ballgame. Jessica Van Beek drove in the other run going 1-for 3 on the night.

The Nighthawks were led by Alicia Kleinwolterink who drove in 6 runs and scored a run going 4-for-5. Monserrat Figueroa drove in 3 and scored 3 times with a 2-for-5 night. Kelsey Vande Hoef was 5-for-5 with 2 runs driven in and 4 runs scored.

Joanna Heemstra went the first five and two thirds innings giving up 3 runs. She walked 1 and struck out 3 to claim the win.

Allie Jongewaard took the loss walking 1 and striking out 3. up next for Sheldon will be a home make up date Friday against George Little Rock Central Lyon.

The Nighthawks have a scheduled day off Friday.
