Orab Softball Teams Wins in Bottom of The Eighth

Orab-LogoSheldon hosted Spirit Lake Tuesday night in non conference softball. The Orbs scored in the bottom of the eight inning to win in dramatic fashion 3-2.

The Indians scored in the fourth and sixth innings only to see the Orabs pull even with a two run bottom of the sixth before pushing across the game winner in the eight.

Rbi’s for Sheldon came from Mackensey Radke, Audrey Gustafson and Sami Kleinwolterink. Radke and Gustafson both scored runs as well with Kayla Johnson also crossing the plate. Paige Krause led Spirit Lake going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run driven in.

Allie Jongewaard won the pitchers dual giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits while striking out 1 and not walking a batter. Bailee Newman was tagged with the loss scattering 4 hits while giving up 3 runs. She walked 6 and struck out 5.

Up next for Sheldon is a conference matchup as they host Sioux Center on Wednesday night.
