Orab Track and Field Strong at Dordt Invite

trackSioux Center Iowa — Dordt College hosted a coed indoor meet on Monday. The Sheldon Orabs had a strong showing on both the boys and girls side. Keri Siebrecht had a trio of first place finishes in the wheel chair competition finishing first in the 55M Dash in 15.82, the 200M Dash in 48.84 and the Shot Put with a distance of 11′ 7″.

Top three finishes for the Orabs included Bryn Groff with a second place finish in the 200M Hurdles with a time of 32.26. The winning time was 31.86 by Anmarie Stuit of Unity Christian. Ashlyn Albrecht was second in the long jump with a distance of 15′ 7″. Mikayla Turek of Unity Christian won the event at 15-11.50. Albrecht also had a third place finish in the 55M Hurdles at 9.72. The winning time of 9.55 was turned in by Camryn Cleveringa of Sioux Center.

On the boys side Brandon Winkel had a pair of first place finishes winning the 55 meter high hurdles and the long jump. In the hurdles Winkel had a time of 8.74. Dexter Hooyer of Sioux Center was second at 9.12. In the long jump Winkel went 19-03.00 followed by Jacob Cleveringa of Sioux Center who went 17-01.50. Tyler Lode won the high jump at 6-01.00 followed by Ben Gesink of Western Christian at 6-00.00 even. Quinten Wynia was second in the 200 meter hurdles in 30.34. Eddie Tapia of Harris Lake Park won the event in 29.56. Jaden Kleinhesselink was second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.30. Alec Langel of LeMars Gehlen won the event in 2:12.38. The Orabs went three and four in the shot put with Ryan Van Marel tossing 44-03.50 and Bryant Dykstra 43-11.75. Caden Fenchel of Western Christian had the winning toss at 50-00.25.
