Orabs Fall in Extras

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Orabs late rally came up short as they fell in extra innings Wednesday night in Sheldon versus the LeMars Bulldogs in baseball action.

The Bulldogs jumped to a quick 3-0 lead after Kyle Kleiver hit a RBI double to center field and Collin Nemmers hit double to center that drove in two runs. LeMars would push the score to 4-0 in the top of the 4th after Gabe Eckstaine hit an RBI double to left field. Sheldon would get on the board with a 3-run 6th. Cody Van Meeteren would walk, Travis Sterler would single to left and Alex Albrecht would reach on a base on balls to load the bases. All three would come in off the bats of Peyton Radke, Tyler Johnson, and Gage Bassett. The Orabs would tie things up in the bottom of the seventh after Brandon Winkel scored on a sac fly by Travis Sterler. LeMars would respond in the top of the 8th inning, getting two runs and the win 6-4.

Logan Lancaster got the win for LeMars, pitching 2 innings, giving up 1 run, 2 hits, and striking out 1.

Alex Albrecht took the loss in two innings of work, giving up just one hit and one walk.

Sheldon falls to 0-1 on the season. The Bulldogs improve to 1-0 on the season.
