Orabs Hit at Free Throw Line to Down Boyden Hull

Sheldon Orabs 2Hull Iowa — Three Orabs combined to go 5-of-6 at the free throw line down the stretch as the Sheldon boys basketball team downed Boyden Hull 56-52 in Hull Thursday night. Kyle Boerhave and Jaden Kleinhesslink each went 2-of-2 at the line before Ryan Van Marel went 1-of-2 to put the Orabs up by 4 in the final seconds.

The game was close throughout with the Comets up 16-13 at the end of the first quarter. Sheldon went in front 31-27 at the half. Boyden Hull pulled even at 41-41 going into the final quarter before Sheldon picked up the win 56-52.

Sheldon was led by Boerhave and Van Marel with 13 points each. Sam Wagner hit for 10. Boyden Hull was led by Shane Solberg with a 10 point night. Marcus Rens hit a trio of threes all in the second half to finish with 9 points.

With the win the Orabs go to 3-1 on the season and 2-1 in the conference. The Comets took their first loss of the season and are 2-1 both for the season and the Siouxland.

Friday night Sheldon will host Okoboji while Boyden Hull plays host to Sibley Ocheyedan. Pregame for the Orab girls is set for 6:05. Opening tip at 6:15 with the boys game to follow on KIWA FM 105.3. We’ll stream from the website at www.kiwaradio.com.
