Quarterback Chris Balster capped a 49 yard drive with a 4 yard touchdown run to open the scoring. Trevor Mayer added the point after and Sheldon had a 7-0 lead with 3:16 left in the first quarter.
A fumble recovery at the Sioux Center 5 yard line was turned into a 5 yard Hunter McDonald touchdown run. Mayer’s extra point was good and Sheldon led 14-0 with 9:24 left in the second quarter.
Sheldon drove 83 yards for their next score as Balster scored from 41 yards out. The extra point was no good and Sheldon was up 20-0 with 6:41 to go in the half.
With time winding down in the half Hunter McDonald caused a fumble with a big hit on a screen pass and Sheldon cashed in with: 39 seconds left in the half on a Tanner Whitsell 1 yard touchdown run. The Orange went for the 2 point conversion and the score was 28-0 at halftime.
Sioux Center got the ball first to start the second half. The Orab defense forced a punt and the offense then went 83 yards on their first possession to push the score to 35-0. Balster went the final 24 yards for his third touchdown of the night and Mayer was true on the extra point. The scoring play came with 9:31 left in the third quarter.
With a running clock and both teams substituting freely, the rest of the game was scoreless and Sheldon had a 35-0 win.
The Orabs move to 4-1 in the district and 5-2 on the season. The Warriors stand at 2-2 in the district and 3-4 on the year.
Sheldon will finish the district schedule next Friday hosting MOC Floyd Valley while Sioux Center will host Central Lyon George Little Rock.
